The Nurse Aide program trains students to meet the full range of patient needs across the lifespan. Students will be trained to understand and proficiently perform the role of a nurse aide, providing both physical care and applicable psychosocial support.
Program Details
- Program Hours: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Hybrid or Class: 75 hours
- Lab: 35 hours
- Clinical: 45 hours
- Program Duration: 6-7 weeks of intense training
- Offered In: Traditional In-Person, Virtual, and Hybrid
Our program is approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing. It includes hands-on learning in the laboratory and clinical settings, preparing students for entry-level positions in various care environments. Upon completion, graduates will receive a Nurse Aide Certificate of completion, qualifying them to sit for the National Nurse Aide Assessment (NNAAP) Program Certification Examination to become a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA).
As a CNA, graduates can work in hospitals, long-term care facilities, client homes, assisted living facilities, or physician offices. Seating is limited to 15 students per class.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- Must be able to read, write, and understand instruction in English
- Valid identification (driver’s license, state ID, passport)
- Criminal background check ($50.00)
- Valid CPR certification (Healthcare provider by the American Heart Association)
- TB Test (PPD test, Quantiferon Gold test, or chest X-ray)
